Bronze Gyoran Kannon

Also known as Fish-Basket Kannon and one of the few feminine forms of the bodhisattva.

Shown wearing a long, all-enveloping robe that covers her hair and drapes to her bare feet.

Ribbons and sashes adorn her underclothes and she wears a necklace.

The basket, held with the right hand, containing a small fish.

Impressed mark stamped to base.

Very nicely modelled, the folds of the robe being particularly naturalistic.

Fish, although riveted to basket, moves slightly
Handling wear to patina - particularly to high spots
Very slight backward/foreword wobble when standing
Slight cast imperfection to bridge of nose
Something loose within casting - hear when shaking
Minor marks & wear commensurate with age
