Decorated overall with various emblems including the Buddhist Eight Auspicious Symbols set within a double register.
These are separated with a raised rim to which is attached a chain holding a small weight.
The top with a lotus pattern surmounted by a lotus knop.
The cylinder contains four paper rolls on which Buddhist texts are printed.
The base with a double vajra.
Very nice impressed all-over pattern.

The Eight Auspicious Symbols are considered lucky and appear frequently
on objects. They each represent an aspect of Buddhist teaching.
These are as follows;
Parasol (chattra) - royalty and spiritual power
Golden Fishes (suvarnamatsya) - good fortune, fertility and salvation
Treasure Vase (kalasha) - spiritual and material abundance
Lotus (padma) - mental and spiritual purity
Conch Shell (sangha) - the fame of Buddha's teachings
Endless Knot (shrivasta) - infinite wisdom of the Buddha
Victory Banner (dhvaja) - victory of the Buddha's teachings and wisdom over
Wheel (dharmachakra) - the teachings of the Buddha.
